well if this board can't make it work how can I make it work?
Depends on what you are trying to make work, Myst. If you are talking about UCash, NO VB board is making it work that's been upgraded to 3.0.10 or the 3.5 series. And for security reasons, upgrading is your best bet. The ones that haven't upgraded yet are sitting ducks. Or owned licenses and haven't paid the yearly fee to allow for upgrades.

There are MANY plugins that DO work and the hacking system is SO much easier than the old system of putting hacks in where you had to edit files.

You run a phpbb board, have you tried easymod? If so, plugins are five times easier than easymod and 10 times more secure. Easymod has a bad habit of eventually causing problems with your sql...there is NO such problem with the plugin system here. That's because 99.5% of the times, there are no sql edits.

Knowing what I know, I'll go vb all the way whenever I can afford it. Liz
