Houston needs attention in certain areas like the need for greener surroundings, trees and recreational opportunities for it to become a favored hub of families and organizations, looking for a location to settle. The quality of life agenda addresses all these issues and recognizes that the quality of life of the people of Houston go hand-in-hand with its economic prosperity.

The quality of life coalition was founded by Mr. Richard Weekley to improve the quality of life led by the residents of Houston. The coalition is run by a steering committee which has many eminent leaders as its members. This include Richard Weekley of the Weekley Development Company, Ann Lents of The Center for Houston’s Future, Charles E McMahen of Compass Bancshares, Bill Coats of Coats, Rose, Yale, Ryman & Lee, among many others.

The coalition upholds the quality of life agenda which recognizes the fact that economic prosperity of Houston and the quality of life of the people living there go hand in hand.
The quality of life coalition was developed to effect changes, for the benefit of those living in Houston. The organization works with various government officials, citizens, agencies and other organizations to effectively implement the agenda items, through adequate funding and sound planning.
