Get your site "out there" for free! Here are a few ways that have worked for me.

1. Visit active forums of the same niche as your site and post regularly with the URL to your site in your signature.

2. Get a MySpace account with a decent amount of friends and send a bulletin or two out at least once a week.

3. Do post exchanges with any site you're able to post at. They won't stick around but it'll make your forum look busy and get potential users to post.

4. Print out some flyer's with the name and description of your site on your computer and post them on store windows[with the consent of the manager, of course] or post them on some telephone polls.

5. Do link exchanges with sites with the same or similar niche and PR as your site.

6. Do banner exchanges with sites with the same or similar niche and PR as your site.

7. Submit your site to free directories. There are a ton of them out there and a lot of them don't require a reciprocal link.
