View Full Version : Sedo Site Pricing Too High?

I know it's the owners of the websites or domains that are selling the websites, but seriously. Some of the prices on that site are insane.

Look at them, there are names that don't even make sense on there for thousands of dollars! Who is going to look at them!?

Oh and Recycling.com is on Sedo for $200,000.00! Sickening.

a lot of those prices are selling prices, subject to some negotiation if you have enough cash in your pocket i think they'd accept 150K . Some people are simply more flexible. 200K is sick unless some monster consortium picks it up and gets the drop on every recycling listing or service out there to grab the greenpeace eyeballs and capitalise on market share growing from katrina/beta global warming awareness increasing.

I doubt you'd make money with recycling.com, no way I'd pay 200k for it

The only way would be to get it constructed as a be al end all portal to recycling of everything, maybe news and technology people didn't know about. But what kind of grab would justify that dollar amount?

Yea, a lot of domains are very very overpriced... especially when you can find names just as good really for 1/10000000 of the price hahah (example: recycle.com) dang! :)

Depends on what you do with Recycling.com. I'm sure there are a lot of plans for it if it is going for that high. Stats must be going through the roof. Live off the revenue or something!

blakeaf96 what do you pay for your average parked site?

Well... recycling.com at 200K is way nicer than this absurdity:

labamba.com at 360K

Makes me think that larastheme.com or moscunights.com could be sold for 100K at least, huh?

Is labamba.com even a word? I have no idea what that is

i guess if you have a lot of domains to manage this is a good way to diversify the managment. but it stills looks like a "for rent" sign over your domain name.

Well, that might be a good thing, Myst. People see it and know they have a chance to buy it

I remember when I use RJ's program from Namepros. It worked very good but was expensive. This Domain Portfolio look's decent and it's free right?

It's Domain Seller Pro. It's a little pricey though, considering there are free ones out there.

labamba.com = "la bamba"
It's the name of a song and a movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093378/)

Asking 360k for this one is completely out of reality.

I guess the pricing isn't too high after all ...

With 2005 drawing to a close, the domain market continued its steady upward climb with another big week at the box office. A trio of six-figure sales were the headliners, with Recycling.com earning top billing at $300,000. Sedo.com handled that sale as well as a $100,000 deal for ProShop.com.
