Yes. If you really want the domain, you should backorder at all the places you can think of.

Wow really? I thought if you backordered a domain at one company it wouldn't matter at any other one because the domain itself would already be backordered.
Hmm... Odd.

Backordering puts you on a list to automatically register that domain when it comes available. It in no way gaurantees you will get the domain. The lists are specific to the backorder company. If you backorder it at one place, another place will never know you backordered. Some places have an advantage. For example, if I registered a domain at GoDadday and you wanted it, you best option is to go with GoDaddy backordering because they don't want the domain leaving them. However, Pool has a higher success rate than GoDaddy. If you use both, you're chances have increased dramatically.
Different backordering companies are usually linked to some registrar (the are going to register it for you, so they have to be), and because of that, the company linked to the registrar that originally registerered the domain has a slight advantage. Places like Pool and SnapNames have a higher success rate (they also cost more). If you really want a domain, you want your name on as many lists as possible. The domain will drop and became available and whoever gets there first will get the domain.

it depends who gets the drop first. But when you are bulk bidding drop reg's, you are probably doing it in quantity. so probably you have a premium drop bidder and then one that is cheaper and may not get it, but maybe those names you put there it's not worth a $30 surcharge.

Why would you try to catch a dropped domain worth less than $30?

to get a premium name for the least price that you wanted, by the drop service with the least fee.
So a domain that is potentially worth $1000.00 could be caught for $30.00? People are that stupid? Lol.
I would love to catch a domain of that calibur, but it just won't happen I'm afraid.

More than likely, no. There is a minimum amount for the drop (I think GoDaddy is the cheapest at $15, but they require you to pay upfront), and then there are places that allow you to bid. There is a chance, really really small chance, that GoDaddy will get it. Otherwise, it's who bid the highest on the sites. If a domain was worth $1000, there will be people bidding $800+ for it.
