View Full Version : How long do you register domains for?
Has anyone actually started registering there domains for longer because of googles new algorithm? I am seriously considering it for a few of my larger websites.
For those of you that don’t know, google is going to start giving better SERPs to domains that are registered for longer.
I will be interested to hear your thoughts.

Interesting, I usually only register domains a year at a time, but I may consider registering domains for longer to gain hierachy on my domains. I hope also though that domains that are regged for stupid times, eg 10 years aren't given too much weight over more content filled websites.

I reg one year at a time, unless their a .co.uk then I reg for 2 years at a time.

I wish I understood exactly why they have implemented this part of their algorithm. I honestly, think that its influence is so low on the relevance of a page, and there are so many exceptions, that making this matter in SERPs is a waste of time.
Just shows that a site has more money, or that they've happened to reg. it for longer.
