ipod / podcast, podcasting
It's so hard to find a pocast domain name will these get good appraisals / are the valuable?
PodCasting is becoming very popular now. I wouldn't doubt they would have value. It will be hard finding good ones now though.

No kidding. Everything is gone. I have one in mind that I might grab but that's all I found. I wonder how long before we see ".ipod"

Hey just trying to help my friend. You know what I think. If people thought of these things before they became popular, how easy would that be? Too bad they are actually popular and people that are lucky register these names sit on a goldmine.
Someone will eventually create .ipod I am sure. Wasn't there a site where you could create your own extension on here? If there is than I am sure it will happen even sooner.

If I understood this right, podcasting is the act of hunting iPod related domains and/or registering them? It's the first time I've heard of "Pod Casting". If it is, then yes I would agree, the iPod is really popular around these days and everyone really seems to be going crazy getting their hands on them.. :D Not to mention, I'd also love to get my hands on one myself.

PopCasting is similar to Broadcasting in a way. They have live feeds or recorded feeds from certain sources and you can download them and play them on your IPod. I've never really used them but I hear they are interesting.

I doubt there will be an .ipod, I've never seen a company have a domain ending titled after them. Countries maybe, but not companies, that'd provide too much monopolization.

I don't think there will be a .ipod either. It would be kind of cool though. There already have some .extensions that are pretty odd though.

with podcasting becoming so popular, it's no different then radio, they have .fm, think about it.
something like: wjhm.ipod or hiphop.ipod

Do they even have .ipod extentions yet? Well, I hope they do soon, and I want to be the first to know about it.

Are you talking about file name extensions? Or domain extensions?
They don't have either yet and I doubt they'll be getting either in the future :P

Domain Extensions are .com, .net, etc. IPod has yet to register a .ipod yet has it been discovered. I wonder if these posts will encourage anyone to bring it up to ICANN or whoever creates extensions?

.ipod will probably be like .info. Make it .pod and not .ipod. .Ipod is too long.

I'd like to know exactly how ICANN comes up with what will and what won't be an extension. If it's solely based on their judgement, do you really think they'd make a .ipod? It'd be favoring Apple... what about .sony or something?

Wasn't there a service that allowed you to create your own extensions earlier? Someone was talking about it.

I think that was Donny or Gayble, and yes, there is. But it requires you download some plugin and everyone that views the site needs the plugin too...

Oh nevermind. Too much work for something that will probably never be done because of .com, .net, .org, etc.

Apple has the money to throw the question is will they throw it. They couldn't even get the production for the first ipod going strong.
I have to say with domains with pod parts of the name getting dumped on the auction and expiration market the indicators are that it won't happen.

I don't think you can buy it though, if you could, I'm sure microsoft would already have one.

Does Microsoft have a newly developing broadcast system? Podcast is huge, you need to stop seeing in black and white. Imagine something that has combined Internet, radio, news, movies, music, downloading and millions more all rolled into a hand held portable device. This is revolutionary, cutting edge technology, nothing has ever been done with this magnitude. They are putting the world in the palm of our hands, literally!

No... but if it was as simple as "I want to buy a domain extension", other companies would of done it.
That would be a great business. Someone should start that up. People could make a fortune off of that.

Via a Registrar obviously. I am just saying if there were a service where you could create your very own extension, and add a name too it. You wouldn't buy full rights to it just add a name to the beginning of the extension.

ahh I guess my definition was way off.. :D anyways, I never knew that an iPod could do that, that's really cool! :cool: I wonder what other features Apple will incorporate into the next iPod?

They'll probably make it smaller.... like the size of a flea or something. It'd be following the trend. ;)
Yeah I was listening to a PodCast last night. It was a sports talk show. They are really nice if you update it every day. You can turn your entire IPod into a Radio.
