View Full Version : What’s your domain registrar of choice?
What domain registrar do you normally use to register domains and why?
Personally I register all my names at namecheap.com (http://www.namecheap.com). I know they are not the cheapest domain registrar but I love their control panel and support.
What about you?

Personally, I prefer enom because of the ease of pushing sold names
My own enom reseller site is www.enomid.com

But g/d will always be top for me.
Thanks.

I use namecheap now, but I used to use registerfly.com because of all their discounts they gave me and their every other day special offers that they used to do. Their live support was a bonus too but suddenly they seem to lack professionalism with customer care. It took them 3 weeks to renew a domain for me after it expired when I had paid for the renewal 2 weeks before it was due. They claimed it was down to changing suppliers for UK domain names, but I don't have time for excuses.
Namecheap all the way at the moment!
I personally use namecheap, like jon said, I like the control panel and I just find it so much easier to use. :)
Same here, namecheap is easy to use and I have had no problems with them yet!

I use GD & I have my own WWD reseller account.
I used RegisterFly for the first 3 1/2 years and then they lost a name of mine and their service/support is an absolute joke...I have moved over 100 names away from them and am moving the rest as fast as I can on a daily basis...
As far as NC goes, I have sent 2 support tickets to them on 2 separate occasions and never received a reply. I still use them occasionally. I like them but don't feel I can depend on them.

I use GoDaddy myself.
I registered my first ever domain there after a recommendation from a friend and I have stayed with them since. I feel the support and control panel is realiable, so thats where I have all my domains.

i use registerfly.com their support sucks tho. Like the other day i asked to add paypal funds to my account as you cant do it automaticly yourself at the moment due to updation. Their Rapid Response 2-4 hour response thing is a lie. I submitted a support ticket to their rapid response thing. 6 days later i got my reply. I want to use namecheap but i prefer to have whois protection like what registerfly offers.

I use GoDaddy, NameCheap, Fabulous, RegisterFly, and APlusHost.
GoDaddy - What everyone else uses, free to open an account, free to push the domain to another's account, bulk pricing.
NameCheap - Cheap .info domains, free to open an account, free to push
Fabulous - Cheap domains, however, I started to use them for registering $6 domains after I forget to get one in a bulk GoDaddy order. When I sold the domain, it was really hard because you have to have 100 domains to get approved for a Fabulous account. The person I sold the domain to didn't have 100. I had to transfer it to their GoDaddy account. I also used Fabulous for the parking system, but have since switched to Sedo or Adsense. I rarely use them anymore, only for .net ($5) that I plan on keeping or for a web design/developer customer.
RegisteryFly - I don't really like them. I fell for the $1.25 bulk .info special and after they got my money, I had a hard time getting the domains. Once they finally got around to registering them, 3 were already taken....the best 3.
APlusHost - They had a deal for first time customers. I buy the domain cheap, then sell it. Since I only have one domain, I can give the new owner my password and username instead of having to push the domain or transfering it out. It's cheaper that way. I wouldn't buy from them again, though.

I personally use
cheapdomainnames.net for .CO.UK its the cheapest registrar i have found so far for co.uk. For .com I use dotster.com for their excellent support or netfirms.com because they are really cheap.
.co.in and .in domains i register with indomains.net. I'm not completely satisfied though, sometimes their site is down, but their prices and support is good.

I used to be like jon, registering every domain I had at NameCheap.com, but I develop alot of my domains now, so getting them cheap helps so I now use GoDaddy most :).

Correct my if I'm wrong but Namecheap, registerfly, and enom are all the same "root" company.
Personally I'm a godaddy guy, I also have a WWD reseller account and have been almost very happy with it. The only downside is the lack of control I have over the reseller site and their API program is a joke. BUt as far as a registrar goes its a great service.
