Vista Domains

Seeing the confirmation of the new name for the forcoming Windows operating system, Vista, lots of domains have been bought in a mad frenzy to grab those domains that people hope will be snapped up by Microsoft, or will get traffic thanks to the promotion of 'Windows Vista'.

What are your thoughts on this? Have you bought any domains like this?

I'm not too bothered by it, a bit of market stimulation never did any harm, but I suppose it does getting irritating when there are silly children buying worthless domains, such as 'windowsvistawallpapers.com'. 'vistasucks.com' was probably one of the first anti-Microsoft domains to be registered, unamazingly.

I was considering registering:

vistamodding.com

As a website similar in nature to deskmod, however after a second thought I realised that the branding of the domain is only as good as the windows version. After that, it'll be phased out and the website worthless!

I registered a few. I don't know whether or not they will become valuable but, its worth a shot.

Unfortunately I missed the rush for these domain names as I was about 2-3 days behind when they announced it.

I wasn't able to grab any good ones, but I did some searching.

I think that people just went a little too far when Windows Vista was announced.
