They probably want to get the name out, so they're giving them away free for a bit.

He's selling some with his other domains.

I was happy to find some of the domains. Thanks for linking to my thread SJAG. :)
Mainly I am trying to sell GOANDBET.com along with the other names. GOANDBET has more value than the others unless .BE names are what the buyer is looking for. I'm sure they will become popular someday... In Belgium.

Maybe if there was a belgium webmaster/domain forum, you could probably have more luck in selling, all you would need is a translator
Yeah wouldn't that be something. We need Belgium people here!

Anyone speak Belgium? If they do, register a bunch of Belgium keywords. One problem though. We don't know any Forums with massive Belgium people

I like usmarines.be. I registered that. Too bad the US Marines are from USA and not Belgium. Haha! There could be some Marines that are Belgium related.

AHHH! Are you serious? I never knew that. Just like Americans speak English not American.
I just watched Austin Powers too and they said "Damn Dutch" to the Belgiums. Haha.

Yeah they are free. Just register a name and it will say .BE - Free. Not sure why it says 17 Euros. Unless they charge now.

Bleh, I still haven't reg'd any of those .be. I better do it soon otherwise they WILL cost money
Try and think of Dutch keywords and register them as .BE's. That is what a lot of people are doing now. If you can find a Belgium market you're set.

Google.be would get taken from you by Google. No one will buy an English keyword.be because the .be kills it for Americians and the English words kills it for Belgians.
At least JJ got the language right this time.

I would like to know some Forums filled with Belgium's. I would try and sell my domains with a .BE extension. Although they are American names though. :(

If anyone wants a .be domain, they would have gotten a free one. They are worth nothing. It would be like trying to sell AOL CDs. They are free, you either have to wait until they are no longer free or just give up on trying to sell them.

Good point, but what if someone really wants to make a site out of a domain that was registered for free? They would pay to have it correct?
-JJ-
sjaguar13
11-08-2005, 09:02 PM
Yeah, but that's like saying if someone really, really wanted an AOL CD, they would have to pay. The .be extension isn't that popular. Plus, it didn't start off being free, so all the good names where already taken before anyone got a free one. Also, it might not even be possible to transfer domains from Nucleus to anyone else.
Gayble
11-09-2005, 03:06 AM
Alot of people have been posting about the free .be domains in alot of forums, I'm sure .be will be popular in no time..
Apsylum

But that dosen't change the fact that it's free and pretty much worthless atm
Gayble
11-09-2005, 03:12 AM
The offer won't last long, and by the time it ends, thousands of people will have their own .be domain, and in the years to come they will be able to sell it for a good amount ;) just like how some registrars offered free .info's, which I never had a chance to get one because noone did tell me about it! :(
I was wondering before if every extension started off free. Just imagine if .com was free when it started. All the names you could have registered. No one knew about this back then so it would be impossible, but the lucky lads that did really hit it big. :(

They were.
They were.
So someone hit it big. That's sickening to think about because .com's are so popular now.
We say this now because they are popular, what would we have known back then? Nothing.

Big time "domainers" back then were actually toll free 1-800 number guys (toll freers?). They would buy up 1-800-Something and later went for the domains. Maybe they wanted to create a matching set, 1-800-Something and Something.com.
Now you can't even register typo's. Back then you could register one worded names with ease. Ugh.

so let's review, a market full of domains got for free people will be trying to sell. Something got for free rarely increases in value in domain world.

May be come big in 15 years. I doubt many people renew their .BE for another year, let alone another 15.

.com wasn't anything like .be though. .com is used in the USA. .be will probably not be used that much here. .com kicked off because it become popular in the USA and around English speaking countries. .be will probably not. .com domains are sometimes worth millions, .be will probably not. :) See my comparison?
Maybe in 15 years IF people still have them. That would be more likely in Belgium though.

True, true, it's not really worth renewing, and in around a year, so many .be domains will become available again..
Apsylum
11-09-2005, 05:19 PM
Too bad they don't have a auto-renewal feature
Gayble
11-09-2005, 05:21 PM
If they did, everyone would probably disable it or either get really angry because they didn't want to waste their money renewing it..

11-09-2005, 05:21 PM
Well if it's free, it wouldn't cost anything to renew ;)

I guess there really is no point unless you'd be bothered to develop one.
